| So Gus, a normal every-day
hit-man, flies into town, wonders into a diner in Buffalo and invites
himself onto Alphie's table. Without much ado he draws a gun, points it to
Alphie under the table and calmly informs him that he's waiting for an
order via the payphone; either to kill our poor hero or let him go free.
Not an everyday situation it's true but as time passes whilst they wait
for the fatal or otherwise instructions our pair lapse into everyday
conversation; discussing the merits or otherwise of the food, life in
general; they both know why they are there but, hey, guys talk together
don't they and they do seem to have known each other and the same bad guys
so perhaps there's more to it that this......... This wasn't so much a low budget film as a bottom of the basement, subterranean film but surprisingly good for all that Sure it won't win many Oscars and Gus (Lance Zurek) and Alphie (James Fulater) are not likely to be mobbed in the road by adoring females of a certain age whenever they venture out but despite that the writer Kevin Hicks has produced a pretty decent movie; pretty decent indeed. Take a look at the trailer here; you'll need Windows Media Player. |
